I’ve spent most of my life building things—businesses (technology and other), a family I’m proud of, and a life that has given me plenty of reasons to pick up a camera. After years of building companies, photography became my favorite way to slow down and de-stress.
Many of my images are from the region where we live. But others are from all over the world. We love to travel, and we’d much rather discover our own path than follow someone holding a flag. Some of my favorite photographs have come from simply wandering around and seeing what happens.
I’m drawn to wildlife, landscapes, cities and architecture, but I’m usually looking for a challenge beyond the obvious. I like photographs that make someone stop and wonder what they’re looking at, how it was made, or what happened just before or after the shutter clicked. And I especially like finding the other story behind a subject—a bird, a building, a landscape, or a seemingly ordinary moment.
I also like gray. A lot. But that’s probably a story for another day.
If a photograph makes someone laugh, scratch their head, or learn something they didn’t know five minutes earlier, I’ve probably done what I was hoping to do.
This site is a place to share those photographs and, when there’s a story worth telling, the story behind them.
